South Florida Australian Labradoodles spay or neuter all of our puppies before they go to their pet homes. There has been many studies that have found spaying or neutering at a young age is a much less stressful surgery on the pet, mostly because they require less anesthesia then if they were spayed or neutered at 6 months of age.
Our vet is very experienced and we have always had quick recovery. As a matter of fact, we drop the puppies off in the morning and pick them up later in the afternoon. They are already playing with each other and you couldn't tell they even had the surgery.
The American Veterinary Medical Association, the Humane Society of the United States, The Association of Spay/Neuter Veterinarians and the College of Veterinary Medicine at University of Georgia are just a few that support early spay/neuter.
South Florida Australian Labradoodles prefers to have this procedure done in our care, with our vet that we have been using for years, that we trust with our most precious little ones. It is a cost that is included in the purchase of your puppy, that you will not have to pay 6 months down the road.
